Seminar on Open Badges on 10 May 2016

Nordplus Adult project Open Badges for Adult Educators offers a free seminar and workshop on Open Badges in Helsinki, Finland on Tuesday 10 May 2016.

Open badges are virtual badges that you can award for learning or an achievement. They are easy to use, and their popularity is growing fast. Employers, NGOs, universities, polytechnics, non-formal adult education institutions, they are all discovering the benefits of a transparent and comprehensive system for validation.

The event is organized in two parts:

  1. A streamed event where you can hear about how badges are used in non-formal adult education and volunteering. You will hear about the results of the Open badges for Adult Educators Nordplus project, about trends in Open badges, about how the guides and Scouts of Finland are using badges to transform volunteering into competences, and how badges can give added value to folkbildning.

  2. Workshops on how to create your own badges and how to earn a badge to display your skills as an educator.

The event is free of charge and you can chose to participate in only one part, or in both parts. This event is useful for teachers, principals, education professionals (planning officers, specialists, administrators), people active in NGOs, employers, social partners, staff in Universities and VETs.

Registration is open until 5 May.
You can register and find more info here.
